Mapping for Environmental Justice creates easy-to-use, publicly-available maps that paint a holistic picture of intersecting environmental, social, and health impacts experienced by communities across the US.
Colorado Demo Map
Mapping for Environmental Justice (MEJ) works with advocates and policymakers to build cumulative impacts maps and apply them in public policy. You can see our map of Colorado, below, and look forward to other states soon!
MEJ’s maps display the intersecting environmental, public health, and socioeconomic disparities experienced by low-income communities and communities of color, allowing users to identify disproportionately impacted communities. This cumulative impacts approach combines this data into a single indicator of cumulative environmental justice impact. We are proud to be a project of the Earth Island Institute.
